|Leadership in Philanthropy||Earl J. Goldberg Chapter of Chicago
For over 30 years, the friends of Allen and Harriet Goldberg helped patients and families with aplastic anemia in honor of their son, Earl, who passed away at the age of 14 from the disease. This included raising and donating $171,000 to AA&MDSIF for patient education, support and research. Earl and his family inspired nationwide to raise awareness and support to fight bone marrow failure diseases.
|Leadership in Philanthropy||William and Mary Ellen Madden
Bill and Mary Ellen Madden, along with their family, have given to AA&MDSIF with unparalleled generosity over the past two decades in honor of their daughter, Mary Pat Madden-Grieshaber who lost her battle against aplastic anemia in 2002. Bill, a retired judge for the Circuit Court of Cook County, served on the AA&MDSIF Board of Directors from 1997-2007; Mary Ellen and her daughter Margie both served as president of the Earl J. Goldberg Chapter.
|Leadership in Service||Anthony Sanfilippo

Tony got involved with the Earl J. Goldberg Chapter after his daughter, Rachel, was diagnosed as a child while they were living in Chicago. He and wife Briget, now living in Westport, CT, continue their commitment through service and philanthropic generosity in gratitude for Rachel’s successful treatmen
