Saturday, July 19th, 2008: Kenny Conidaris Blood and Bone Marrow Drive

Estero, Florida

For the third year in a row, Bob Conidaris and the Conidaris family have organized the Kenny Conidaris Drive to be held at the Lani Kai Island Resort in Ft. Myers Beach from 9am-4pm.
The event will feature live entertainment, free food and refreshments along with free transportation. Read for additional details.

ALL DONORS RECEIVE A "FREE" T-SHIRT AND A $10 GIFT CARD.

Kenny Conidaris is a 14 year old Florida native. Two years ago Kenny was treated for Aplastic anemia. After treatments and stopping all immunosuppressive medications two months ago, Kenny seems to be making his own bone marrow. However, he still battles the fight with low platelet counts. The Conidaris family has a positive outlook that Kenny's numbers will climb to normal range. Doctors have warned that if Kenny's counts do not climb to normal range, he will return to Duke University Medical Center for treatment or a bone marrow transplant.

If you are in the area, please support the Conidaris family by attending. If you have any questions, you may contact Kenny Conidaris at (239)463-3111 or Kathy Conidaris at 851-0701.

Saturday, July 19th, 2008: 3rd Annual 5 mile walk for MDS

Sharon, Vermont

This event is in its third year, and still going strong. Harold Adams lost his fight with Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) on July 22, 2005. Harold's daughter, Felicia Nalepinski decided she wanted to do something to honor her dad. Others, who have been affected by MDS have joined this walk also, and it's growing every year!

Last year there were 52 walkers.  This year's walk begins at 9:00 AM at the Sharon Elementary School in Sharon, Vermont.

If you or a loved one has been affected by MDS, and want to join in the walk or have questions, please contact Felicia at Felicia.e.nalepinski@hitchcock.org

If you are unable to attend, and would like to show your support please donate directly to the AA&MDSIF in memory of Harold Adams.
