Partners in Patient Care

The mission of The Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation is to bring answers, support, and hope to patients with aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. We realize that health care professionals are partners in this process, and we want to do our part by providing information that helps you and your healthcare team care for patients with these life-threatening diseases.

social workers

Note for social workers: AA&MDSIF understands the important role social workers play in the well-being of patients and their families. This is why providing education opportunities to social workers is a key strategy in fulfilling the AA&MDSIF mission. Professional education helps with career advancement, licensure, job satisfaction, and staff retention. Our programming is driven by rigorous, ongoing needs assessment of professionals augmented by input from a committee of experts across diverse disciplines.

AA&MDSIF is now providing continuing education credits for social workers across health disciplines. Credit is provided through six regional patient and family conferences, which are unsurpassed in their breadth and quality. Through these efforts, we assist and advance the knowledge base of individuals as well as the systems in which they work and the patients for whom they care.
